Improving efficiency in control towers

Wacom’s interactive pen display helps air traffic controllers to simplify
flight data handling in a busy and demanding environment.

The increasing workload confronting controllers as global air traffic continues to grow has prompted demand for modern data handling architectures. Products such as electronic flight data and flight data processing tools are becoming more common in control towers and area control centres. Replacing conventional paper strips with electronic data onscreen automates some controller tasks and offers the opportunity to add alerts when conflicts are detected. The increase in computer processing power supports the introduction of more electronic tools and software houses are
introducing new tools for many routine controller tasks, which increases safety
and capacity.
